Travel agencies offer specially designed tours that cater to many destinations in India.

With Mumbai to the north, Karnataka and Kerala to the south, Goa sits half way down the west coast of India, between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. The Portuguese legacy and its World Heritage sites give it a unique character and the top attraction is the coastline. Goa has nearly 125 km long coastline, which is dotted with some world class beaches.
Goa Beaches for Enjoyable Holidays
Goa beaches are conveniently divided into north and south, either side of the capital Panaji. Once a popular hippy haunt, the northern beaches claim some lively spots such as Candolim with its scrub covered dunes, Calangute, the largest and busiest, and its extension Baga. Anjuna attracts crowds to the weekly flea market held on the beach, Vagator is known for trance parties and Arambol for its fishing village and alternative therapies, be it yoga, meditation or taichi.
To the south, Benaulim is generally relaxed, considered by many visitors to be the most beautiful part of the state, Goa’s stretch of southern coast running from Betul down to the largely forgotten Polem in the south, is a beach-lover’s dream of golden sands, gentle surf, and the mellowest vibe imaginable. Here you’ll find emerald paddy fields studded with egrets, the bright-saris of farm workers, lazy rivers, herds of wandering oxen, and hidden beaches almost entirely without big resorts, sprawling hotels or frenzied nightlife seen elsewhere.

Explore Old Goa and Panaji:
A short distance inland, Old Goa is worth visiting for culture fans. Called the Rome of the Orient in earlier times and now boasting World Heritage Sites, Old Goa retains some impressive churches such as the Renaissance cathedral, the largest Christian church in Asia, and the Basilica of Bom Jesus housing the relics of St Francis Xavier, revered for miraculous healing powers.
